The arraignment for the local man accused of shooting a dog through the neck and endangering his family has been rescheduled.

ROCHESTER — The arraignment for the local man accused of shooting a dog through the neck and endangering his family has been rescheduled.

Lee Thurston, 34, of 11 Sheridan Ave. in Rochester, requested his court appearance be rescheduled to 8 a.m. on Monday, May 11, because his legal counsel was not available on the original arraignment date, according to court documents. His previous court date had been set for Monday, April 27.

Thurston is charged with: Class B felony cruelty to animals; Class B felony reckless endangerment of others by discharging a rifle in an occupied apartment building; and violation-level unauthorized use of firearms by discharging a weapon in an unauthorized area. He is currently free on $5,000 personal recognizance.
